Grand Class Cinema – What a rip off and a disaster for cinema goers in Kuwait. Firstly you have to pay kd 10 for the Grand Class (VIP) but the ticket price is only kd 6 plus you get a food voucher for kd 4. The Grand Class lounge only has a small food stall and all they could offer was a glass of Champaign (not real) and a piece of caviar on a small biscuit. When we asked for water or cola to take into the cinema we were told to go outside to the regular cinema to BUY this. We were also told we could order food and drink from inside the cinema. So during the film, the audience were calling out to attract the attention of the staff, then giving orders and then the staff returning with arms full of food and drink, A total distraction while trying to watch the film.

And Grand Cinemas by having exclusive rights to show the top movies, such as Skyfall in just one cinema in Kuwait, denies the majority of fans the chance to see the film. And also, most of the top movies are filmed in IMAX, as was Skyfall, and the Grand Cinema does not have an IMAX. As I said, Grand Cinemas is a disaster for the Kuwait film fans.
