Alaa and Dalal Alhomaizi, Kuwaiti twins, work as full-time student research assistants in number one hospital (2012) Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School. They transferred from the College of Business Administration in KU to Northeastern University in Boston where they are pursing psychology.

At twenty-one years old, the twins started the SPEAK campaign (Standing for Psychological Education and Awareness in Kuwait) in response to the negativity they received for choosing the career of psychology. SPEAK works to reduce the stigma of mental illnesses, provides interesting and diverse topics of mental health, and promotes excellence in psychology and psychiatry in Kuwait.

Although they are still pursuing their education, that did not stop them from organizing several successful events. Currently they have organized the biggest event this year; the World Mental Health Day 2012 event in association with the Center for Mental Health and the Ministry of Health. The sisters personally contacted the renowned speakers from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital which is an achievement rarely done by undergraduates.

The 2-day event (October 10-11, 2012) will include professional seminars for general health professionals and medical students from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. In addition, it will have interactive presentations for the public from 5 pm to 8 pm featuring Harvard doctors, the SPEAK campaign, and more.
