The first awards of its kind in the region, the MEED Quality Awards for Projects, in association with Ernst & Young are designed to recognise and reward best practice and quality in construction projects throughout the GCC. These merit-based awards are judged by an esteemed panel of judges, all respected experts in the GCC projects industry.

On 14th May 2013, at the Gala Awards ceremony taking place at the Jumeirah by Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi; The Avenues, will compete at the GCC level against national winners from the other GCC countries to honour the ‘GCC’s best’ in each category

In a yearly base, their have to be an operetta organized in Kuwait. The recent ones were Kuwait for those who love her operetta and Operetta 7amy ElDistoor. Today was the operetta for this year and it’s named as (Kuwait Amana). I haven’t watched it full but I saw the last couple of scenes on Youtube. It will be repeated time to time at AlWatan TV.

SwitchSIMKuwaitFinally Transfer Your Mobile Number To Any Local Telecom Company was our hit last September 2012. According to the news today, the Ministry is in process of establishing a new company to deal with the clients transfer from one telecommunication to another.

There are some terms to transfer your number from company to another:

  • The client should to pay all pending bills if it is exceed up to KD30.
  • Transfer Process: 24hrs.
  • Transfer Application: Have to be done by the company will transfer to (Such as I’m Company X and I will transfer to Company Y. I have to go to  Company Y).
  • Transfer Price: 3KD
  • The client can choose type of plan (post or pre-paid) through transferring to the new company.
  • New SIM Card will be given after transferring.

I’m not yet sure to transfer my number because I think the company I’m in right now is perfect with their prices, quality and services.

NBKWalkathon2013NBK Walkathon 2013 started yesterday (Saturday 23rd March 2013) and ended successfully great. I signed up to attend the men’s walkathon session, but the weather started to change to windy and rainy so I decided to stay home. But I tried to have a tour and watch in the morning to Zena Friends race in The Green Island.

There was different activities and fun things to do during the walkathon. Good Job NBK and we are looking forward to keep up the walkathon annually. I missed it this year and hope to join back next year.

Lazurd Catering Factory

LazurdFactoryThe backend of each business have to be the place of secrets. Yesterday morning, I had a chance to enter to Lazurd Catering Factory. I went for the tour from the beginning till the end of Laurd’s Factory. I was welcomed by the Business Development Manager. At the start point, everyone have to wear plastic head cover and plastic gloves.

The factory is segmented with sections of appetizers, drinks, bakery, desserts, main courses, grill, cutting, cleaning, washing and so on. Every tiny product from Lazurd is made by hand and they don’t use machinery a lot. Everything is made/cooked naturally, fresh, clean and professionally.

I was just allowed to take some photos only and enjoyed seeing what’s happening in the backend. As it is a huge amount of effort and hard work done to deliver to the customer with efficiency.

Largest Solar Power Station Worldwide In UAE

United Arab Emirates opens the largest solar power station worldwide in Abu Dhabi. The project took two years to build and it costs $600 million for the full station to be constructed. Shams 1 (the name of the station) has 258,048 parabolic mirrors that collect sunlight which hits heat-transfer fluid. The process creates steam, which powers turbines to generate electricity.

The project is extremely large and that’s what we need to see in the earth for looking to an alternative way to generate electricity. UAE done it, but when we will have one in Kuwait. I don’t have anything to say, but just sit and watch the neighbor countries getting built.

Before month ago I saw this review at AlArabiya. Suddenly I saw it posts on YouTube. The society here has changed by having a pet inside the homes. Before, some of the families disagree’s to keep any animal inside homes and if it bought some the person and the animal will be kicked out. Strange pets are now in Kuwait and also inside Kuwait’s homes. I love pets/animals when I was young, but I dislike them now and also keeping them inside home.

Ben'sCookiesKuwaitComing Soon: Ben’s Cookies At The Avenues was our post in last December 2012. Ben’s Cookies will start today afternoon. So I went to The Avenues today around 1pm to visit Ben’s Cookies Store in The Mall.

The doors wasn’t officially opened yet when I went there. But I asked to buy some two chocolate cookies.

Ben'sCookiesI ordered one triple chocolate and double chocolate cookies as each cookie cost (750fils). I sat outside the tasting the cookies, which is quite good. But the main concern I found some difference in the chocolate cookies compared to the ones in UK. I’m a lover to Ben’s Cookies in London and I will be also in Kuwait.
