It’s time for politics as, we are not a political blog. I was reading our friend AlMothalth blog about what happened last night.

I would like to add my comments regarding what is happening in Kuwaiti street. Kuwait is really getting the lowest country in the Gulf. Qatar is planning for the next 12 years and we are still fighting about what is happening before 20 years in the war. Abu Dhabi has build the largest Ferrari World theme park, Dubai has their best railway.

Well what could we say, I think our live will start from the zero when you are starting building Kuwait. I need to know when does these daily fights finishes and let’s build our country and life happly. We are born to build the earth NOT to fight!.

We have been emailed from Human Rights Watch. Human Rights Watch has organized a campaign in Kuwait regarding domestic workers in Kuwait during the month of October and the campaign is a way to shed a light regarding the rights of domestic workers.

  • Title: Put Yourself in Her Shoes
  • Purpose: Raising Awareness and Improving Standards for Migrant Domestic Workers in Kuwait via complimentary advertising placements and public relations support from leading media channels / companies in Kuwait.
  • Organization: Human Rights Watch (HRW)
  • Location: Kuwait City, Kuwait
  • Campaign Launch Date: October 1st 2010
  • Campaign Duration: 30 Days

About The Campaign

We believe many people in Kuwait are insufficiently aware of domestic workers’ rights, and that they would be outraged if they knew of the indignities or injustice some workers suffer. Through a public campaign in Kuwait, we aim to raise public awareness of common problems these workers face. So far, four local civil society groups have signed on to support the campaign: the Kuwait Society for Human Rights, the Kuwait Society for Fundamental Human Rights, the Kuwait Social Work Society, and the Kuwait Center for Expatriates’ Rights. We continue to build even wider support.

We will release a series of five images that encourage fair treatment of domestic workers and raise key issues (sample images enclosed in end of brief). The advertisements encourage employers to pay wages on time, give workers a day off, and provide enough food. They discourage name-calling, yelling, slapping, and beating workers.
