“When the bloggers went last Monday to the Kids Cancer Party at the NBK hospital (post) and (post) each had a different view on their experience to share. All of them however agreed that the most touching story was the story of the young Abdul Kareem. This brave smiling boy has cancer in his leg that is spreading around. In order to save his life he is faced with two options:
Get a knee replacement surgery or have his leg cut off.
So why can’t he get a knee replacement? Because they say its not available in Kuwait. However, he can have it replaced in Jordan where the operation is available there.
What is the problem then?
Well Abdul Kareem is not Kuwaiti and the operation will cost him 30,000 KD which his family doesn’t have.
How is this possible?
The medical services in Kuwait doesn’t include a knee replacement operation!
Why is it available in Jordan and not in Kuwait?
We thought about having a charity run for Abdul Kareem to help gather the 30,000 KD for him.
There are two problems though:
1- The money has to come from one place and not from multiple people, god knows why! I think maybe money laundering rules apply here?
2- Abdul Kareem has no time. His leg amputation operation is scheduled for next week.
By next week, Abdul Kareem will lose his leg because a knee replacement surgery cannot be performed in Kuwait. By next week, Abdul Kareem whose family doesn’t have 30,000 KD will be able to live but with one leg only. He is just a little boy with a big smile whose already endured chemo until he is stick thin. But he will have to suffer for the rest of his life because an artificial knee cannot be spared to save his leg.
We can’t gather up donations for him, we would have tried. But we can do is spread the word. Maybe there is someone out there who is willing to help out. Companies maybe? Rich people with big hearts and 30,000 KD to spare? You can help Abdul Kareem by spreading his story, tweeting or posting about it until it reaches someone who can help before its too late. Its the least we can do for this brave little boy with a big smile despite his pain and misery.
Thanks for Danderma spreading the word for supporting AbdulKareem.

Almost four years since VIVA started in Kuwait. Still their terms & conditions for there users haven’t changed. These terms & conditions:

  1. Transferring the line from post-paid to pre-paid – Still no one can change their line from post-paid to pre-paid and the other way round.
  2. Changing subscriber name – If anyone needs to sell or change the subscriber name, you are not allowed to change it by VIVA, till it pass one year.
These two points are really the main terms & conditions for the subscriber. I was really disappointed when I went to their branch to do these two things with my friend. So we had to disactivt the line by losing the cell-line number.

In the last several years, new buildings, businesses has been established in Kuwait City. Everyday, new small and big businesses starts, the country is really getting lower and lower without development plans. There are really lots of problems, every one of us are facing such as:

  • Traffic
  • New Streets
  • Policies
  • Easy processes in Ministries
  • More & more

Today at 11.00 am took me 1hr from Shuwaikh to Salhiya. So how come the country will be advanced without re-changing.

We need solution. I’m thinking for the next three years ahead specially the traffic roads. Allah Kareem.

Service Hero, the only index in the Arab world that measures service quality across different sectors or industry categories. Voting for the 2011 Service Hero began yesterday, October 1st, and will continue until November 30th. Over 400 total brands were voted on in 2010, and we hope you help us increase that number for 2011.

Through Service Hero, consumers like you are able to rate service quality for places you frequent, like banks, café or car garage. These votes allow companies to learn about their strengths and weaknesses and how they compare with competitors. Your votes also provide industry averages and an overall country average which can be compared on a global scale.

Pink Kuwait Towers, celebrating the world breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer is the main fact of spreading out the world, and we hope everyone stay healthy and safely.

Although, I really liked the idea of placing these flash light decorations on Kuwait Towers. Why, they don’t place these flash lights all the time for any upcoming events locally, such as awareness, national, sports, health and etc. It makes us feels the taste of the celebration with effects and musics.

Kuwait Public Authority For Civil Information, placed these small plates all over Kuwait. These codes represent a specific location which helps to search or navigate to. Each mall, shop, hotel and house will have this plate placed.

The first two numbers represents:

  • Building – 4
  • Complex – 5
  • Hotel – 12
  • Co-op – 23
  • Mall – 24
  • Garage – 34
  • Commercial Complex – 37

This number will be placed back of the civil id which navigate your current located accoumdation.

It’s really a wonderful, idea as it is quite old. It could help use to find and navigate the location we need to go to quickly by entering the postal code number.

Buildings, roads, billboards, LED screens in one zone. In both entrance of Salem AlMubarak St, each month the advertisements banners and screens quantity are increasing. They are area where it is placed are useless.

I need to ask one more question: do you think these complex’s placed more than 3 banners top of the building to invest?. They already invest, by renting the retail shops. Most of these building placed these banners to invest by renting them, but there is really a high risk are these banners placed properly and supervised by the Fire Department?.
