Tobacco has been used for centuries and escalated to smoking cigarettes in our recent time. The first people to start smoking and chewing tobacco were the Mayans. They also used it to treat wounds and etc. But a few hundred years later the Europeans explorers found the tobacco leaves and started to partake in the smoking industry. Now in our modern time smoking cigarettes is known to be a very casual thing yet at the same time causes hazardous health problems to regular smokers like myself.
Most health problems can be cured in our modern time because of our fast improvement in technology and knowledge of certain problems. Smoking Cigarettes is a major health problem and can be cured by a lot of our modern ways. First comes the psychological way to stop smoking. Second the new products that aid in it like the electronic cigarette and the nicotine patches. Last but not least what is our duty to prevent it and help others?
Smoking in general is considered to be a habit rather than an addiction. There are a lot of help that a smoker can get to help him quit like seeking a psychological doctor to help by making a better schedule for the smoker’s life style and may even have him go to group meetings were people share their thoughts and ideas as smokers and how they are improving .These are all in rehab programs and also available for free or low cost. Probably even cheaper than what a smoker spends on cigarettes. However before he or she commits to stop smoking they should have a mindset to quit and the “will” to stop.
Technology is moving very fast and is improving daily. One of the newest products for people going through the Rehab program is using an electronic cigarette.” It Looks like a cigarette, Feels like a cigarette, Taste like a cigarette, But it is not a cigarette” , it is a cigarette driven by microelectronic technology that basically means the cigarette is made up of three things the nicotine cartridge, atomization chamber and a smart chip with a lithium rechargeable battery. It acts like a cigarette when puffed on. Except the fact that it gives out water vapor instead of all that CO2 and all those harmful gases from a regular cigarette and can be smoked anywhere.
Furthermore there is also another alternative to help quitting smoking. This product however is called a nicotine patch. The most famous brand would be NicoDerm CQ. It is a patch used to help aid smokers quit by lowering the amount of nicotine in the smokers body. So basically helps the body by reducing the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine until the smokers body no longer is need of it.
Our role as individuals towards people who smoke in our community is very important. If we keep informing people about the hazardous effects it will by time change the smoker’s mindset hopefully. On all cigarette packs there are warnings however we must instead of that have interviews and to give free products and tips that help stop smoking. With time things can change, just like tobacco escalated to cigarettes.
In conclusion, Smoking cigarettes is very harmful and hazardous to smokers like myself. However with our modern technology products such as electronic cigarettes and nicotine patches are available for the smokers to use. That aid in stopping their bad habit. Tobacco led to cigarettes. now cigarettes led to the artificial cigarette. Hopefully in the near future this will lead to the end if this epic health problem.
