AlShamali_SoukTheAvenues

At least one day every week I have to visit The Avenues to check out the latest products, shopping around, have a walk and dine for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Today (Tuesday) morning around 11pm, I was in Shuwaikh repairing some parts of my car and thought out to visit The Avenues.

I passed The Avenues Phase 3 and founded some stores opened in Soku, The Mall and Souk. Souk Phase is my best area for me in The Avenues which I love, specially the creative stores that got talented/creative touches from Kuwaiti entrepreneurs.

SoukTheAvenuesStores

Creative, Talented and impressed stores names launched up at Souk Phase such as Tahsoona (Men’s Salon), Fils (Traditional Customs Store), Boteelah (Juice store) and more.

BoTeelah

I saw lots of posts on Instagram about BoTeelah store. BoTeelah provides fresh juices and drinks, plus sells unique traditional historical bottles. I ordered and tasted out their juices which is quite good. But compared to out mall stores, their prices is quite expensive which I think because its inside a shopping mall.

Check also our recent post about Dakan AlFreej At Souk The Avenues.

ViolatingBillBoards

Last week I’m seeing all the billboards in highway and main roads without any advertisements placed. Today afternoon I passed by the Gulf Road towards Salmiya and saw the billboards placed with red tags by the Ministry of Municipal. The red tag has a text placed (This advertisement violate with the Ministry terms and conditions).

Here is the trick, these billboards were placed more than a year and why they decided this time to banned these advertisements. Companies invested huge amount of money to place the ads with the company provider and it’s removed all by the Ministry. So what’s will be done in the next stage I don’t really know.

I will hashtag this #HELLOKUWAIT !!

EATDinningGuide2013Couple of days back, I saw EAT Guide at of the cafes. The name impressed me and I took it with me back home to read. During skim reading the guide through the first pages it impressed me more and knew that Bazaar Magazine create this guide. By finding out more about this guide and via twitter, this is the 8th edition of Dinning Guide.

EATGuide_Humba

The most interesting things I liked from this guide are the simplicity of reading, way of reviewing the restaurant/food, food categories, directory, uniqueness, size of the guide and combined menu at the end. I haven’t got time to read of the reviews, but I went through till half of the guide and it’s really exciting to know more about the restaurants, chiefs, food and the catering entrepreneurs.

From our side, it’s really worth to read this guide before dinning at any of the local restaurants. Additionally, you can take it as a reference for choosing the best restaurant to dine in for weekend. It’s available online and public cafes.

SheikhMohammedAlAbdullahAlSabah

Tuesday afternoon was our invitation gathering with ministers in Kuwait. Kuwaitna organized this gathering with bloggers and media members and the Minister Anis AlSalah (Minister of Commerce), Minister Nayef AlHajraf (Minister of Education) and Minister Sheikh Mohammed AlAbdullah AlSabah (Minister of Municipal).

The gathering started successfully with each guest can ask a question to any of the ministers or provide his/her recommends that can help the country and the ministry for improving any of the issues. Some of the questions were satisfied but some of them were really not what the gathering is organized for.

AbdullahBoftain

It took four hours to share our questions and suggestions to the ministers and hear from us. But at the end, their were some points that can concern but most of them pointed as political issues.

Minister Anis AlSalah (Minister of Commerce) shared with us that their will be a new upcoming network for small and big businesses by applying commercial licenses and it will be done within next six months term.

Personally, I loved this idea by sharing to the ministers in a friendly casual gathering at one of the cafes, but I wish it could be improved more in future specially the guests invited and time period as I got some suggestions that ended without asking out. Finally, pleasure thanks to Kuwaitna for this gathering and pleasure for us to meet the ministers.

CreditCardsFake

Everyone will be disappointed of what’s happening locally. One of the largest hypermarkets in Salmiya founded some different transactions which are all marked as fake credit cards. Most of the cards recorded under different Unicode names that was knew when the accounting auditors founded the transactions errors.

From what we knew is all of these credit cards are not Kuwaiti, but marked from Philippine and India. So there are a group of people from somewhere in the world are purchasing from fake credit cards locally. The Philippine fake card purchased 200KD from the hypermarket which it was approved by the POS machine and founded lately it’s transacted by a fake card.

Therefore, for all of the business owners locally be careful from these group of people from overseas and try to spread these case.

ShowbizKuwait

On my way to Salmiya, I stopped at the traffic light next to Showbiz. Everything is still the same since years and years. I remember as a kid we usually visit Showbiz to play some electronics games, entertaining and having fun. The project is proposed to be one of the largest entertainment project in Kuwait, but it seems it will be ever done.

Constructions haven’t started since years and really don’t know what the case behind this project. The project can be changed to another project if there are any cases by the licenses or additional issues. Food or cafe courts would be the best project here specially if it is a winter season. Well, I don’t think it will be done anymore.

SamsungInvitation

Before two days ago, I got an invitation from Samsung (AlBabtain Co.) for the grand opening of Samsung store At The Avenues (Soku Phase). The invitation attached with an invite card and new Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Device. Will be posting up soon a quick review of the device.

SamsungTheAvenues

Wednesday 7pm, was the grand opening of Samsung Store located in Soku The Avenues next to Digits and Nestle Toll House Cafe. The store was opened by the honor Sheikh Talal AlFahad AlSabah and head management of AlBabtain Company. I had a visit to the store before launching and reviewed the offered products.

In brief the store combined with all Samsung products such as TV, Cameras, Phones, DVD’s, Computers and more. From my own experience in gadgets, I really recommend to get your device/electronic product you need from the authorized franchiser/dealer in Kuwait, as it’s the best place to authorized and guaranteed.
