We were invited to “Honda AlGhanim’s Official Launch Event” at Kuwait ice skating rink last Sunday. The launch included a number of acts and performances by different groups, and a special performance by a guest star.
The show started at 8:30 as planned, the seats were almost full and organization was perfect, with a guest list including the Japanese ambassador, AlGhanim family members and Honda representatives. The show started with a word from the show host stating that this event is to celebrate a new era of partnership between AlGhanim Industries and Honda Motors Company.
A documentary about AlGhanim was demonstrated and how AlGhanim had a key role in Kuwait industry. AlGhanim operates in more than 40 countries working with 400 brands. Also talking about Honda development and productions through years and how technology & engineering dreams comes to life in their facilities.Later on “Ma’ayof ” Kuwaiti folklore band made an “Aarda “show, a traditional Kuwaiti music and dance.
Then another documentary about Honda showed the development of Humanoid. The work and science put together to produce the first functional smart Humanoid “ASIMO”. ASIMO is a humanoid created by Honda engineers to offer a better life solution, afterword ASIMO 2 (the latest version of ASIMO) came to stage walking without any help! Accept me using “he” instead of “it” as he really looks like a small Astronaut.
The host started talking to ASIMO and he replied accordingly. ASIMO can walk, balance on one foot, go upstairs, avoid obstacles and shake hands using advance technology and three types of sensors, 2 cameras in the head, infrared sensor and ultra-sonic sensor which allows him to see and identify the person height and shape in front of him. Then he was asked to bring juice and tea which he did and smartly walked slowly to avoid spelling the drinks, later he started playing football, shaking hands and even dancing.
However as a surprise, Kajemu came to stage showing us his visual symphony kung-Fu show which combine digital projections with Japanese culture and martial arts, you can see Kajemu work in YouTube as he fights shadows with glowing nunchaku. I really loved his performance and was so happy to see him in Kuwait.
The best were saved for last. The famous singer Hussain AlJasmi came to stage and made the crowd go crazy over his beautiful voice performing his most popular songs.
